EDUCATION

In following the mission of Shriners Children’s, we provide education for physicians and other health care professionals. This includes, but is not limited to, hosting residents, fellows, students, and trainees to perform orthopedic and spine clinical rotations. In addition, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, orthotics and prosthetics, nursing and advance practice students (PAs and NP students) complete their pediatric clinical rotation under the guidance of the professional health care staff. Shriners Children’s Portland hosted six grand rounds sessions in 2023. AUSTRALIAN RESIDENT PROGRAM Shriners Children’s Portland has had a unique opportunity to train residents from Australia for the last 23 years – the only site of its kind outside of Australia. The Australian Orthopedic Association (AOA) has accredited the Shriners Children’s Portland as a designated training site for their residents.
