AnnualReport2020

Transformational Leadership Transformational leadership involves strategic vision, planning and preparation. Our Nursing Executive Council (NEC) has developed the 2020-2023 Operating Plan, FOCUSED™ on the Future. The four key priorities this year are conducting a system-wide nursing assessment; Facilitating a system-wide plan to support transition and operating model changes; Developing a system-wide nursing and patient care services dashboard to influence day- to-day operations; and Optimizing nursing health care technology. Transformational leaders are those who stimulate and inspire followers to achieve extraordinary outcomes – and in the process, develop their own leadership capacity. At Shriners Hospitals for Children, we believe all nurses are leaders, as they can influence change from any position. There is a growing transformational culture among our nurses that is encouraging collaboration, trust, strong relationships and that our nurses play a critical role in fulfilling the mission of our health care system.
