CHEST WALL CONDITIONS At Shriners Children’s Portland, we specialize in treating children with chest wall malformations of all degrees, including pectus excavatum (sunken chest), pectus carinatum (raised chest) and Poland Syndrome (under-developed chest muscles.) Our multidisciplinary team, including a plastic surgeon, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, otolaryngologist, speech pathologists and more, work together in coordinated appointments to repair patients’ cleft lip and palate and address other related needs and concerns. Our team focuses exclusively on children and understands how growth and development affects the outcomes for a child’s appearance and function. Our specialists evaluate each child and create a customized treatment plan that ensures a comprehensive and family-centered approach to care.
