NATIONAL SIGNATURE EVENTS

EVENTS BENEFIT SHRINERS ORGANIZATIONS Shriners Hospitals for Children and Shriners International support and participate in a number of local, regional and national events throughout the year. Our national signature events generate attention for both organizations, which helps raise our profile in entertaining and unique ways. These events typically provide a variety of fellowship opportunities for members of the fraternity. This year many of our events either looked very different or were canceled because of the pandemic. Nevertheless, we continued to adapt and find ways to participate and tell the story of our amazing fraternity and health care system. Here are a few highlights from our national signature events: TOURNAMENT OF ROSES PARADE Although the parade is typically held on New Year’s Day, organizers’ difficult decision to cancel the event was announced midyear. In addition to a primary sponsorship at Daytona International Speedway on February 13, Shriners Hospitals for Children was on board with Little as a primary sponsor throughout the season, in multiple races, including the Circuit of the Americas, in Austin, Texas, on May 22. In that race, a fundraiser for Shriners Hospitals for Children involved donors making a minimum donation of $78 to have their name featured on Little’s #78 car. SHRINERS HOSPITALS FOR CHILDREN OPEN The signature PGA TOUR golf tournament was held October 5 - 11, 2020, at TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas. Due to health concerns, it was played without fans in attendance. Many of the top PGA TOUR players came to Las Vegas to compete for FedEx Cup points. This year’s contest ended in a three-man playoff with Martin Laird taking home the Howard Hughes Trophy. He defeated Austin Cook and Matthew Wolff with a 23-footer for birdie on the second playoff hole.

distancing and other health guidelines and requirements. The Shriners fraternity and Shriners Hospitals for Children look forward to participating in next year’s Tournament of Roses Parade. PARTNERSHIP WITH NASCAR AND JESSE LITTLE In January 2021, a partnership between Shriners Hospitals for Children and NASCAR driver Jesse Little and BJ McLeod Motorsports (BJMM) for the 2021 NXS season was established, and began with an event at the Daytona International Speedway in February. As part of this affiliation, Little kicked off a campaign to highlight patients of our unique health care system in order to raise the profile of and drive donations to help Shriners Hospitals continue to fulfill its mission.

Although spectators were not there in person, Shriners Hospitals for Children patients’ presence was keenly felt. National Patient Ambassadors
