MARKETING e COMMUNICATIONS

T he missions of Shriners different. The creative corporate marketing and communications staff is responsible for promoting these missions clearly and consistently, supporting specific goals of the two organizations, and protecting the brands and public image of the fraternity and the philanthropy. We also work to raise the profile of both organizations by providing information in updated, interesting ways. AMESSAGE FROM OUR CHIEF MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER As has been true for every department in both Shriners Hospitals for Children and Shriners International, this past year has been especially, and uniquely, challenging for the marketing and communications department. Many of my staff continue to work at home to protect themselves and/or family members from the virus. While we meet and communicate via video communications, conference calls and texts, it just isn’t the same for an especially creative group that thrives on collaborating and brainstorming. And yet, my amazing team has International and Shriners Hospitals for Children are both similar and

» A showcase for our mission: improving the lives of children through providing amazing patient care, conducting innovative research and offering outstanding educational opportunities for medical professionals » Vibrant, bright and beautiful – just like the children we serve Part of our responsibility in marketing and communications is increasing awareness and understanding of all that Shriners Hospitals has to offer the world’s children. A huge component of that is a rebranding initiative that will identify the health care system as Shriners Children’s. The shorter phrase fits the fast-paced life of today’s families, as well as the trends in digital communications. More importantly, the phrase honors the health care system’s founders – Shriners – and clearly indicates our sole focus – Children’s health and well-being. We will be rolling this new brand out slowly and deliberately over a period of time, and look forward to the many opportunities for showcasing the amazing stories of our health care system it will provide. We are proud of our efforts over the past year on behalf of both the fraternity and philanthropy, and look forward to another year of supporting these incredible organizations that

answered every challenge and request, from redesigning websites – complete with all new content – to overseeing a patient acquisition campaign, fulfilling video requests, creating quarterly publications and providing text for everything from holiday ornament descriptions to a membership directory to corporate messages. I have never been more proud of my talented, dedicated staff. In their own way, they, too, help fulfill the missions of the Shriners organizations every day. The new website has been a huge undertaking – we look forward to its launch and to many improvements for our viewers. The new site will be:
